New Concept WIND TURBINE (NCWT) - It's about Rotor
NCWT is developed (primarily by eliminating the flaws in the existing wind turbine Rotors of all types) to increase the energy output to 2 - 6 times and reduce cost up to 1/2 of the present ones (Larger the Rotor, higher the gains multi-fold). It's a novel concept / approach of using sailing technology at its best for the wind energy conversion. The main advantage of using sail is that utilizing maximum available wind in a given area along with all sorts of aero dynamic principles of sailing by implementing the sails into wind turbine rotors through strategic design integration and engineering. Another niche thing is that the NCWT Rotor can be custom made to the site conditions.
NCWT was first intended for the smaller turbine segment with a view of focusing on the roof top turbines as currently a big vacuum is present in this segment all over the world. With the remarkable achievements of sail integration during concept refinements, it is made best for use in larger turbines and hence the focus is now on larger segment followed by smaller.

Salient features of NCWT
- NCWT optionally coupled with indigenously developed Gear Box for speed control.
- Generally small NCWT uses specially developed tail vanes of conventional type, furling type. And, for larger ones AI controlled yaw system will be used and here too AI controlled tail vanes are optional based on site conditions.
- Downwind Rotors are prescribed only for safer site conditions.
- NCWT has a specially designed tower to ease the loading and unloading of top load.
WHY NCWT & SKIIDEAS ?
A. NCWT - General advantages over the existing bladed Turbines
- An efficient converter of wind energy - Output can go as high as 2 - 6 times the existing ones based on size.
- Easy to manufacture (simple & conventional) in short time.
- Light in weight but Strong.
- Easy to handle (for storing, transporting, assembling, maintaining, servicing, etc.)
- Economical- Cost can be less by up to 1/10th of present ones on account of above points.
- Larger the size... Higher these gains get multi-fold.
B. NCWT - Other Advantages over the existing bladed Turbines
Apart from Output, Cost and other benefits as mentioned above, NCWT will eliminate almost all the drawbacks of current modern WTs. Refer to below table.

14 | Cyclic Stresses & Vibration - When the turbine turns to face the wind, the rotating blades act like a gyroscope. As it pivots, gyroscopic precession tries to twist the turbine into a forward or backward somersault. C. Reseach and Development
SKIIDEAS engaged in developing / implementing below advanced systems.
- Advanced Controllers for off-grid ones (for battery storage), Advanced Inverters for on-grid system (for feeding the grid evenly).
- Advanced AI controls, remote monitoring, etc. particularly for the larger turbines.
- Apart from NCWT, SKIIDEAS is developing an innovative solution for the larger wind turbine segment with existing WTs. This is expected to generate 300 to 600% (size dependent) increase in output than the present larger turbines. Sooner this will be introduced for the larger units.
- Another break through concept in Electric Generator Technology with minimum possibility of 40% increase in output (Note: Expected maximum increase in output can be anywhere up to 100%). Planned to use this as a trade secret. This will be implemented shortly by SKIIDEAS. This innovation will not only serve the WT sector but to the entire electric generator industry!
